Microsoft did say that if a disc was used with a second account, that owner would be given the option to pay a fee and install the game from the disc, which would then mean that the new account would also own the game and could play it without the disc.

It’s not true. Good, because I was certain for a moment there that Microsoft was trying to go bankrupt on purpose. What do they mean by ‘trade in and resell games’? Digital copies of them? Like would copies with DLC or something be worth more or what?

Do you get to sell your saves (as if you can’t already do that when you sell physical copies of games, and as if saves aren’t freely available on the Internet)? The fact this Xbox needs an Internet connection turns me off. We don’t all live in the U.S.; we don’t all live in a city with fibre Internet plans freely available to the public. Some of us have extremely unstable connections, or we can’t afford decent Internet. This really is going to be the ‘USBox One’ as some people have put it. The PS4 is sounding better and better with each passing day. The mere fact that it doesn’t require an Internet connection has me sold. Thank you for being sane, Sony.

What follows naturally from this is that each disc would have to be tied to a unique Xbox Live account, else you could take a single disc and pass it between everyone you know and copy the game over and over. Since this is clearly not going to happen, each disc must then only install for a single owner.

Oh good grief. That’s a terrible form of DRM. In any case, forcing users to install games to the HDD is also a horrible idea. Yeah, it’s 500 GB but how much of that space is going to the OS and other system programs? How much does one actually get for games? Not liking this one bit.

@inun0mimi: I can only hope so. At least Mayer hasn’t tried to change anything yet. I just hope she doesn’t force ads onto Tumblr. I still feel like ads are inevitable for a website like this.

I mean, look what happened to LiveJournal after SUP bought it. It’s definitely not the website it used to be. It was a massive fandom hub. All the exclusive fandom communities (to my knowledge) were, and some of them still are, on LJ. Not really the case anymore. Nearly everyone I knew on LJ has moved on to Tumblr now. I don’t want Tumblr to end up the way LJ is now, that’s all. :/

I found a bunch of assorted sports cards from the 1990s but it turns out most of them are Blue Jays cards so they’re worth like 20 cents. A lot of Tepps and McDonald’s Blue Jays cards and a couple of NHL cards. Apparently there as a Wayne Gretzky card that sold for $90,000. Damn. Maybe these cards will be worth a bit more in a couple of decades. If anyone still cares for sports cards then.

“What worries me about Yahoo! buying Tumblr is how it would choose to incorporate the website into its email and homepage features. One of the reasons why Tumblr is so unique is because it’s a niche market. By adding more users who don’t fit into this niche, it would make it more difficult for communities to develop within Tumblr, and Tumblr would have to change to accommodate these new users. Tumblr as a website is not the kind that you can sign up for in a day and be on your way. No one is going to mind Yahoo! buying the website and gaining a few extra million dollars per year from the minimal advertising; what we will be upset with is if a company like Yahoo! then changes the website to increase casual users and decrease dedicated users. As much as is does sound like a load of bullshit for someone to buy Tumblr, it’s a possibility. I Personally think it should stay independent and I hope David Karp keeps a hold of it like his own child. Or we make enough noise to where such major changes (if bought) will not happen. I would hate to see Tumblr turned into an advertising dump.

We’re not a ‘hip fad group’ to be marketed to. I hate the fact that’s all we look like to businesses in the end.

I’ve always thought of Haruka as a ‘Yamato Nadeshiko’ in training. ~~I think a lot of otome game heroines fall under this category, but I digress~~. The latest episode of Utapri S2 cemented that for me (the way she held on to the door that Satsuki was trying to close). She’s got an iron resolve, that’s for sure. I’ve always liked her as a character, so there’s that.

A properly done yamato nadeshiko will show a subtle, but definitely present, touch of iron, in that she is unwilling to let circumstances hurt the ones she cares about or distract her from her goals or missions. This is often accomplished so subtly that the target isn’t certain how things got redirected — a kind of influence judo, if you will.

I think the main problem people may have with her is that she’s not fleshed out enough in the anime. If I’m not wrong, her hobbies, interests, likes, dislikes, and all aren’t mentioned. We know she’s an excellent lyricist, plays the piano and has a terrible sense of direction, but what else? Then again, there are way too many characters in the series for the writers to just concentrate on Haruka. Maybe people feel that she’s too boring and not quirky enough compared to her best friend?

I don’t know how. Have you tried looking through the page source for mp3 files? If you give me a link I can try. A lot of media files are kept in private parts of the websites that may require a password.

Looks like Nintendo decided to pull a SEGA-like move regarding content IDs on Youtube videos (mostly LPs). This is affecting LPers who do Nintendo games, which is really unfair. Don’t LPs and whatnot fall under fair use?

Why claim ownership of a simple LP video that probably won’t even earn that much money from ads when you own the goddamn game. Pisses me the fuck off. They’re alienating a majority of their fanbase right now.

So not only does Nintendo get the tiny bit of money the LPer might earn from ads, but they also get free advertising for the game courtesy of the LP video itself. How fucking low can a company sink?
